Narod long-period MT receivers and triaxial ring-core fluxgate magnetometer systems

The National Geoelectromagnetic Facility at Oregon State University acts as a point-of-contact for those interested in using NIMS MT systems that are maintained at the Oregon State electromagnetic instrument center. There are currently two NIMS instrument pools at OSU, requests for which may be made through the web forms found on the left hand side of this page under "NGF Requests/Info -> NIMS MT system".
1) NSF EarthScope MT Instrument Facility at OSU - currently comprising 21 NIMS transportable instruments, with priority given to EarthScope Transportable Array studies (community experiment) and to EarthScope Science Program projects (PI-led). Access to these instruments for other purposes may be possible, with the concurrence of the NSF EarthScope Program Director. This facility also operates one LEMI-417 MT instrument.
2) National General Purpose Long-Period MT Instrument Facility at OSU - 51 additional NIMS MT instruments are available to any investigator, for operations anywhere in the world. Please make your request for instruments (even if only in the advance planning stage) through the web form "NGF Equipment Request Form". You may contact the NGF for more information. Access to these instruments is on a cost recovery basis.
